BoundsChecker vs. MemCheck
Execution Time: Simple memory allocation places typical demands on an error detection tool, including its methods of interception, tracking, validation, and finally, deletion. Where you or your team waited three minutes to run an app, you might wait over 45 minutes for BoundsChecker.
STRATOSWARE CORPORATION
The benchmark application is a MFC 4.0 application compiled with Visual C++ 4.2. The benchmark allocates 10,000 buffers of 40 bytes each with the C++ new operator, then deletes them. The benchmark figures compare MemCheck 3.5 for Windows from StratosWare Corporation with BoundsChecker 4.0 from Nu-Mega Technologies. Tests performed on a Gateway 2000 P5-90 with 32MB of RAM running Windows 95. Default installation options were used for both BoundsChecker Professional and MemCheck 3.5.
